ITERO®
We pride ourselves on having the very latest in technology available in our office to ensure the highest standard of patient care and comfort. This is why we use the iTero® , a cutting edge digital impression system, made by Align Technology. This fantastic new digital system means no more unpleasant putty tray impressions, and is extremely popular with our patients.
With the use of the digital scanner, we are able to take 3-D images of your bite and teeth. It is these images which allow us to make a fully customized treatment plan that is specific to your needs. It also allows us to visually show you how different treatment options would work as well as being able to keep you fully informed of progress throughout your treatment.
Once your treatment plan has been decided on, those digital impressions help us to make your custom trays which help us to apply the brackets to your teeth all at once. This increases overall effectiveness and of course increases efficiency.
Below you will find just a few of the benefits of iTero digital impressions over traditional putty impressions:
- Accuracy: They capture the exact contours of your teeth.
- Efficiency: They require less time in the treatment chair.
- Comfort: Taking the digital images is less invasive. No putty is used, and patients are more at ease without fearing they will gag on the impression putty.
- Customization: They provide a digital plan and allow for trays that are tailored to meet the individual needs and desires of each patient.
- Visualization: They provide each patient with a definite picture of what their teeth will look like before, during and after orthodontic treatment.
- Innovation: They use the most advanced 3-D video technologies.
CONE BEAM COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY
At McGuire Orthodontics and Facial Orthopedics, we utilize the newest technology to fully evaluate you and your family. Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a sequence of x-ray images that creates a three dimensional view of the entire head. This allows us to evaluate not only the teeth and bone, but also the airway, nasal structures, and temporomandibular joints (TMJ). This imaging allows us to see the full picture and how each of these structures relate to each other.
